Arizona Community Foundation of Yuma awards $2,500 to fund the Gadsden Math Project

The AWC Foundation was recently awarded a $2,500 grant from Arizona Community Foundation of Yuma to fund scholarships for Gadsden School District #32 junior high school students enrolled in college level math courses through the Gadsden Math Project in partnership with Arizona Western College.

Did you know that by taking college classes while still in junior high or high school, students develop a strong work ethic, form time management skills, improve their writing skills, advance their critical thinking skills, and are better prepared for college?  The Gadsden Math Project has seen over 1,200 students successfully complete their college level math courses.  These students improve their math ACT scores and many have qualified for summer Johns Hopkins classes.
